Here are some NEVER to do to your antique homes
- NEVER: leave the house uninhabited for long periods of time…because if you do..I have seen changes in the interior environment of an old house left unoccupied even for a month.
- Roofs will eventually leak.
- Paint will peel peel. Paint peels within weeks especially latex paint that was painted over oil based paint.
- Plaster will crack.
- Floors will warp.
- a bloom of mold (especially in warm climates) will appear after only a few days of being unoccupied because of a lack of circulating air which happens when people open and close their doors
